A way to remember a book collector

March 22, 2021 By Dan Danbom

Books are such a fundamental part of people.  We are what we read in many respects.  The books we leave behind are a kind of testament to who we were.

As a way to remember a book collector, and to honor his or her book collection, you might consider having us purchase the collection and then do a catalog of them.  The catalog would feature a biography of the collector as a way to put the books in some context.

One of our sellers recently produced a catalog for a family in Idaho Springs.  The father was a serious collector of horror and science-fiction, and he had accumulated an impressive library.  Instead of merely selling the books off piecemeal, our bookseller purchased the entire collection and cataloged selected volumes in a book catalog dedicated to the collector.  His family provided a photo and biography.  It was a nice way to memorialize the collector, and to celebrate his achievement in gathering such an interesting collection.

Please let us know if that’s something you might be interested in.
